Overview

Marvel: Dimension of Heroes is a first-person AR game where you play as Captain America, Black Panther, and other Marvel heroes in a battle to defeat Dormammu. The gameplay consists of performing actions using motion controllers - Players can block, slash, punch, and throw in order to defeat waves of enemies. It was built for the Lenovo Mirage AR headset and developed in Unity.

My role on Dimension of Heroes was to lead the design on our Survival game mode and our Co-operative play. It was my job rally the team around the design and get buy-in, talk with the publishing team weekly and show off the progress on the game modes, and implement and iterate on content. I was heavily involved with scripting AI behaviour of the waves & enemies, as well as providing support on Marvel character abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Led the design on Survival Mode game mode & Co-op functionality

  • Scripted the logic for the wave-based gameplay of Survival Mode in Behaviour Designer (AI plug-in tool for Unity)

  • Scripted AI behaviour for enemies in Behaviour Designer

  • Showcased the work-in-progress with our partners from Disney on a weekly basis & established a trusting relationship with the publishing team

  • Supported the Story team with design help on character abilities
